One letter search hits… Who’s on top?

There’s a special club of 26 Web sites that pop up when users type a single letter into a search box. It changes with the search engine you use (surprise, surprise!).

Bing Search Engine, Try it Out

If it looks similar to Google, that’s probably no accident. You’ll find the same search headings here: Web, Images, Video, Shopping, News, Maps…but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Bing’s maps still have “Bird’s Eye View”, which isn’t as nifty as it was before Google Street View, but it is a slightly different angle than Google’s Satellite View, and that’s something, isn’t it?
Bing is Microsoft’s rebranding of Live Search, which offers some new features. Can it steal back some of the search marketshare from Google, or is Microsoft just wasting their time and effort in a losing battle? Feel free to try it out and post comments about your experience. Bing
