Google Maps Street View’s Improved Navigation

“Google have added some really cool new navigational tools to Google Maps Street View. The new tools add rectangular overlays on top of Street View that when double clicked zoom you into the view. There are also round overlays that let you jump down a street and other rectangular overlays that let you jump down a street and pan to a particular view.”    (Found on google maps mania)

I don’t think the photography does us any justice, but at least we’re on the map (take a look).  How come England gets beautiful, high resolution, colorful views, but we get lo-res, muddied colors that look like photos taken in the 1970’s?
